Teaching process in Baguio City National High School (BCHNS) is focus on the interactive teaching between students and the teacher. Because teaching and the learning process between teachers and students will lead the students to be more active and have big confident. the teacher use cooperative and demonstrating learning strategy in order to make the students involved.  teachers become the facilitators for students, supporting and encouraging them to explore their ability with QnA (Question and Annswer). Every meeting has time in 60 minute to complete the subject.

Materials and Other Learning Resources
The teaching process in BCNHS uses materials and learning resources provided by the teacher. The teacher provides teaching materials to support the learning process.
for physical education subjects basketball material about basic passing. the teacher brings original basketball and assigns students making plastic and paper artificial balls to help the learning process and to make it easier for students to understand the lesson.

Curriculum

Students in the General Secondary Schools must take and pass a wide variety of courses.  Here the curriculum consists of language or communicative arts (English and Pilipino), mathematics, science, technology, and social sciences (including anthropology, Philippine history and government, economics, geography and sociology).  Students must also take youth develop training (including physical education, health education, music, and citizen army training), practical arts (including home economics, agriculture and fisheries, industrial arts and entrepreneurship), values education and some electives, including subjects from both academic and vocational pathways. Education in Philippines uses K to 12 Curriculum. The K to 12 Program covers Kindergarten and 12 years of basic education (six years of primary education, four years of Junior High School, and two years of Senior High School (SHS) to provide sufficient time for mastery of concepts and skills, develop lifelong learners, and prepare graduates for tertiary education, middle-level skills development, employment, and entrepreneurship.

Teaching Plan

1. Curriculum
As a whole, the K to 12 science curriculum is learner-centered and inquiry-based, emphasizing the use of evidence in constructing explanations. Concepts and skills in Life Sciences, Physics, Chemistry, and Earth Sciences are presented with increasing levels of complexity from one grade level to another in spiral progression, thus paving the way to deeper understanding of core concepts. The integration across science topics and other disciplines will lead to a meaningful understanding of concepts and its application to real-life situations.

Teaching Practice
1. Procedures of Teaching
After doing observation on teacher for one week, I go to the next phase, that is the real teaching step. It means I have to teach sixty minutes in the morning for Special Program Sport (Athletic) and also the reguler class. Every day I have to make two lesson plan except friday.
Special Program Sport (Athletic)

Reguler Class

2. Time Management and Organizing Activities
Sixty minutes is not so long for me, because in Indonesia we have to teach 9th grade for 120 minutes and it is not in the classroom but in BCNHS I just teach in the classroom, so obviously that it is a must to have a good time management and well organized activities to avoid a longer or shorter duration of teaching.

3. Classroom Management
The teachers use various interactive way to make all the students keep quiet and stay focus such as giving an ice breaking and by asking questions to make all students stay focus and also let them listen again about the lesson that teach by the teachers.

4. Problem Solving
To control the class that is hard to stay focus on the lesson I always try to be their friends, so every teaching I try  to make the class more interesting by giving some indonesian term and fortunately they are very ecxited. Ma’am Jennifer said to me that I am good enough as a teacher but still has some mistakes especially in grammar and pronounciation. The way Filipino speak English is quite different with common people because they use Spain dialect and sometimes some students don’t understand becuse i use different dialect.

Observation On Teacher

1.Planning for Teaching
Before the real teaching phase, 3 days was my time to observe My Cooperating Teacher Ma'am Jennifer C. Pinlac  to know how she handle and manage the class.  She kindly teach me everything, for example how to handle the noisy class and always give me support and motivation. She taught 7th grade and 8th grade at Special Program in Sport (Athletic) in the morning and 9th grade on Faith and Generosity in the afternoon.

2. Preparing Lessons and Materials
One night before teaching, the teachers should make lesson plan and prepare the  materials such as marker, manila paper etc. The teaching and learning process do not always run well. Since the media such as laptop, TV Education or speaker cannot be used properly teachers have to make plan B to run the class.

3. Teaching in the class
The teachers in BCNHS are given 60 minutes duration in maximum to teach. It includes preparation and explaining the materials. For outdoor learning, Usually teachers teach in the classroom for 20 minutes and 40 minutes outside to demonstrate.

4. Measurement and Evaluation
The teachers measure and evaluate students’ comprehension by conducting summative tests end of week. The students are given the instructions to  answer the topic they learned. The  teachers always inform the students if they are about to have summative tests,so the students could studied before.

Summary and Suggestion

1. Purpose of Practicum
Ø  To know the comparison of educational system in other country.
Ø  To give the student teachers opportunity to go abroad.
Ø  To give the student teachers an experience to teaching in overseas.
Ø  To give the student teachers chance to expand friends relation.
Ø  To give the student teachers chance to practice teach with English as major language.

2. Procedures of Practicum
The procedure student teacher practicum includes:
First week : Orientation University and Practicum School, Cooperating Teacher class observation.

Third week : Real teaching, write lesson plan and the supervisor gave the evaluation for the student’s teacher performance.

Fourth week : Write Blog for SEAMEO and make report for Saint Louis University.

3. Outcomes of Practicum
The student teachers  could improve their teaching and english skill, make various and creative lesson plan, how to handle the class with different attitude and culture, and finding new friends. I  Can share and apply the system of education and get the positive thing about culture that can implemented in sending country and also can improve the English skills.

4. The Challenges of Practicum
Ø  This is the first time for me go to abroad, so I got big nervous if I must talk using english everyday and the first time I teach physical education with English as major language.
Ø  Difficult find Halal foods.
Ø  The number of student in the class is larger than in Indonesia, it is around 50-55  students in each class and makes me have to talk loudly.
Ø  Difficult to manage the noisy class and silent class because the different english accent.
Ø  Hard to adapt in the different culture.
Ø  Hard to adapt in the different weather.

5. Overall Impression
I'm glad because god give me a great opportunity. I love the weather in Baguio. the people were so kind and it makes feel comfortable.

6. Suggestion for Future Improvement
Some advice for the next batch. you have to find further information about the city you will live in. like the habits, culture and education system in the country so you can prepare yourself.
